Repair or replace?
One problem on a roof under 15 years: repair. Recurring leaks, widespread granule loss, or age past 18–20 on asphalt: get replacement quotes alongside repair quotes and compare cost-per-remaining-year honestly.
Will insurance pay?
Sudden storm damage yes (minus deductible, increasingly with roof-age depreciation); wear-out no. Photograph damage, tarp promptly, involve your insurer before signing anything a door-knocking contractor offers.
